Love they are telling his story. This poor man was vilified in the press and by people in Atlanta and around the nation and he was INNOCENT. Disclaimer: I say no spoilers because I believe the story is well known and nothing should come as a shock.
Awesome dialogue throughout. A heart-wrenching story that packs some great comedic lines as well. I would probably give it a 9, but since I saw a couple of reviews give it a ONE (no way that is a fair review! I added a bonus point. The acting is top notch and the movie deserves several awards, however I cannot see today's Hollywood honoring a movie that dares to rip the mainstream media. All high school students should have to watch this movie to warn them that what you see on "the news" may not be true. And even when it is proven false, no problem, they simply move on to the next story that they hope will draw ratings. Like most True Story movies, there is some parts that may not be true. The reporter may not have slept with an agent to get her information. But that isn't very vital. It is what everyone did with that information. I understand the media can't be trusted, but the FBI? Very sad and scary. Mr. Eastwood is an American icon and thankfully someone who doesn't have to care what modern Tinseltown thinks of his product. He told a story that needed to be told because too many in power would want us to forget this egregious treatment of a Joe Lunchbucket Hero. WATCH THIS MOVIE WITH AN OPEN MIND. You will laugh. And you will cry.

Fbi has to learn not all 'profiles ' fit a crime most I would think need help in getting such materials or a network of people would finance such a thing. and they never caught anyone. strange. I'm just glad he lived out his dream of becoming a police officer. THE FBI IS at the root of many many. Atlanta Constitutional Journal Reporter, Kathy Scruggs was used and abused by the FBI to spread the story that Richard Jewell what is the suspect. The reason for this what is the FBI hoped that people would come out of the woodwork with information about Jewell once he was identified as a suspect, that would somehow help them make their case. Scruggs was a young woman that knew how to have fun, display her sex appeal, drink, smoke and abuse drugs. Scruggs got her drugs from Atlanta Cops and slept with several of them which is no big deal until she died of a drug overdose at 41. She got a lot of her news tips during pillow talk. The fact is she got good information most of the time and wrote good news stories.

He was good man who saved peoples lives amd look what the elite did to him. oh, he's fat and and he had trouble at work. must be the guy. I despise the media. I really feel bad for him. I was 13 during the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. I remember this whole incident really well. The biggest thing I took away from it at the time that stays with me today was not Jewell finding the backpack. It was a couple days later when CNN was telling me the FBI said he was the bomber. I was like oh. Okay. Well the media is telling me how weird this guy. I guess that automatically means he tried to horrifically kill hundreds of people. But he never went to prison. As the days wore on I was like why is he still free if the media is telling me he's a killer. Then he was exonerated because there was NEVER one shred of evidence against him other than he was very passionate about keeping people safe; Albeit a little slow in some ways. At that point I realized the American media was more dangerous that AIDS. Another horseshit media concoction that tried to scare every teenager in the 1990's from having sex.

FBI is thoroughly corrupt. Absolute gestapo. They can never be trusted. It's fascinating how Clint Eastwood, in his film about gross injustice, goes out of his way to blacken a dead woman's reputation, portraying her as a cackling floozy. Mr. Eastwood's courage in doing so is certainly inspiring and reminds us that, when someone is in the cold ground, HEAVEN KNOWS ANYTHING GOES.

The important lesson about this isn't that Media and Government lie. Yes, they do, and this movie won't change that. The lesson to learn is, that when they lie, the public believes them. You and I need to learn not to blindly believe what we're told, but to check it out and see if we're being told the truth or not. BTW this isn't a Liberal vs. Conservative problem. This is a people problem. As soon as you decide that you can always believe your favorite news outlet, whether that's CNN or FOX or anyone else, you take the role of Sheep, and you will be fooled into believing things that aren't true.

This is sad as it gets, a true hero maligned by the media and he died too young, at 44 christ. You can blame the same fake news outlets for his character assassination too: NBC, CNN, NYT.

As a journalist I'm ashamed by the way 'thing changed' in the nineties and 'the circus' today

The controversy makes me want to see it more, so keep it coming. An outstanding movie that is beautifully timed given the horrible collusion between the FBI and the mainstream media we are witnessing on a daily basis (and have been for at least 50 year now. Well-acted, well-edited, and well-directed to convey the utter frustration felt by the victim of this media/government witch hunt. The only unfortunate part is that the film did not come out sooner, before Mr. Jewell and Kathy Scruggs passed away. Everyone should see this film, if nothing else, to send a message to Hollywood that we all want to see more films of this quality and subject matter. Life isn't fair. Wrong place/wrong time. This man sued everyone for the right reasons, and NEVER accepted a penny of it. Some went to his mother the rest to lawyer and fees. I see this man and I think he should of just walked away. No he does the right thing and then his life gets profiled. Do you know why he was reviewed? His former employer calling the FBI saying he was some kind of over zealous wanna be officer. A man who had dream took his job serious and gets shit on by his past boss. His seriousness saved people. He visits the fallen lady every year until he dies leaves a rose behind. Fucking man of true honor real honor. There is no truth, no honor among us anymore. I salute this man. In his honor in the end he did the right thing. Joe buck is worst in sports broadcasting. Bob costas needs to come back for the World Series and Super Bowls instead of buck.
